Match Recap
Libertad didn't just beat Leones del Norte, they dismantled them. Elvis Patta got the demolition rolling in the 26th minute, and once Vilinton German Branda Merlin doubled the lead in the 67th, there was no way back for the visitors. Edu Pineda put the finishing touch on it in the 88th, turning a comfortable lead into a 3-0 rout. It's a timely statement for Libertad, who climb to 41 points and seventh in Liga Pro off the back of a shaky LWDLW run, while Leones del Norte slip to eighth on 39 after a defeat that snaps whatever rhythm their LDWLL form had going. The head-to-head had actually favored the visitors, with Libertad winless in their last two meetings, so this wasn't the expected script. Three different scorers, three separate moments of composure in front of goal, and a scoreline that tells you everything about how one-sided this really was. Watch how Pineda sealed it in the dying minutes below.
