Match Recap
Naoki Hayashi rescued a point for Tokyo Verdy in the second minute of stoppage time, heading deep into injury time to cancel Erison Danilo de Souza's 58th-minute opener and settle this J1 League basement clash at 1-1. JEF United Chiba had done the hard work when Erison broke the deadlock after the hour, and they looked set to collect three crucial points at Verdy's expense. Hayashi's 90+2 leveler denied them. The draw leaves both sides stranded on three points from five games, with Verdy 19th and Chiba 20th, neither team pulling away from the danger zone. In two J1 League meetings between these clubs, it is now one win each, and the split scoreline says everything about how evenly matched they remain. The way Hayashi found the net with seconds on the clock is the only reason to need the highlights, and it is worth every second.
