Match Recap
Heracles rolled into Almere unbeaten, five games, five wins, top of the Eerste Divisie table before kickoff. They left with that perfect record broken. Almere City FC needed patience: nothing separated the sides for 79 minutes, then Martin Jean Wasinski struck in the 80th to send the home crowd into a frenzy and hand the league leaders their first defeat of the season. It's a result that tightens things at the top: Almere sit second on 13 points, four wins from five, while Heracles remain top on 18 despite the slip. Wasinski's name won't trouble D. Zandbergen, the division's top scorer with 15, but on this Eerste Divisie afternoon it's the only one that mattered. One goal, one moment, one dented unbeaten run, catch the strike that stopped Heracles cold in the highlights below.
