Match Recap
José Paradela broke Santos Laguna hearts in the 89th minute, his late strike settling a tense Liga MX clash 1-0 in favor of Cruz Azul at home. For most of the night it looked like stalemate, but Paradela had other ideas, and his goal extended Cruz Azul's perfect recent record against their opponents to two wins from two meetings. The timing could hardly have been crueler for Santos Laguna, who came in with just one point from five Liga MX games this season and needed something here. Instead, the visitors head home with a fourth straight loss, sitting 17th in the table with a form run of DLLLL. Cruz Azul, by contrast, bounced back from three consecutive defeats to collect three points and climb to nine on the season, their own WLLLW form line telling a story of a side that keeps finding a way when it matters. Paradela found his way in the 89th. Hit play to see it.
