Match Recap
Mauritania saw off Central African Republic 3-1 in Africa Cup of Nations qualification, needing four goals across three different scorers to get the job done. Aboubakary Koita broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, but Goduine Koyalipou pulled one back for the visitors just after the break, cutting the gap to a single goal. Mauritania answered emphatically: Dawda Camara Sankharé restored the cushion in the 69th minute, and Mamadou Diallo added a fourth in the 89th to close it out. Both Sankharé and Diallo now sit inside the qualifying campaign's top ten scorers, ranked fifth and seventh, with early pace-setter Tumisang Orebonye still out front on two goals. Central African Republic's response never had enough behind it, and Koyalipou's strike ended up a mere consolation. Diallo's late finish is the moment worth rewinding, a composed close to a match Mauritania controlled when it mattered most.
