Match Recap
Cruzeiro turned a halftime stalemate into a convincing Serie A statement, outscoring Atletico Paranaense three goals to one across the second half to claim all three points at Mineiro. Matheus Pereira opened things in the 30th minute, only for João Victor Machado Cruz to level right on the stroke of halftime, leaving the tie very much alive at the break. Cruzeiro took charge from there: Lucas Romer restored the lead in the 71st minute, and Kaio Jorge sealed it eight minutes later with his 82nd-minute finish. That goal was Jorge's 24th of the Serie A season, keeping him top of the scoring charts, while Pereira's opener was his 14th, placing him ninth in the league. The result also ends a sequence of one in the head-to-head, with Cruzeiro previously losing the only fixture between these two sides. Jorge, the division's leading scorer, putting away the clincher in the closing stages is exactly the kind of moment you need to see.
