Match Recap
Slovakia didn't need long to take control in this UEFA Nations League clash. Ivan Schranz broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, and Ondrej Duda doubled the lead just eight minutes later, turning a tight first half into a comfortable cushion before the break. Moldova never found an answer, and Slovakia saw out the second half to seal a 2-0 win. It's a first step forward for a Slovakia side sitting third in the table, one place above Moldova in fourth, with both teams still searching for their opening points this campaign. Neither Schranz nor Duda cracks the league's scoring charts, where J. Pohjanpalo leads the way on three, but on this night the two Slovak forwards were the difference makers. Two goals in eight second-quarter minutes decided a match that had given little hint of a breakthrough before Schranz's strike. Watch how Schranz opens the scoring and Duda pounces to make it 2-0 in the highlights below.
