Match Recap
Bryan Linssen delivered the sucker punch NEC Nijmegen needed, scoring twice after the break to turn a one-goal deficit into a comfortable Europa League win over Omonia Nicosia. Loïs Diony had given the Cypriot side a 23rd-minute lead, but Linssen leveled on 50 minutes before Clement Bischoff put NEC in front for good on 74. Linssen then added his second just two minutes later to seal the comeback. The result lifts NEC off the foot of the group but leaves them well behind Omonia, who sit 11th on six points with two wins in three, against NEC's one. Neither side has a player among the league's top scorers, with Molde's K. Zachariassen still leading the way on eight. For NEC, it was the response that mattered: trailing, then dismantling Omonia inside half an hour. Watch Linssen's double, including the decisive 76th-minute strike that sent the home crowd into delirium, in the highlights below.
