Match Recap
Kaio Jorge did what the league's top scorer does best, tearing through Gremio's defense for a hat-trick as Cruzeiro turned a 2-1 deficit into a 4-2 away win in Serie A. Carlos Vinícius, himself the division's third-best scorer, had given Gremio an early lift, and Cristian Pavón restored their lead at 41 minutes, but Kaio Jorge answered twice early in the second half before João Marcelo sealed it in the 80th. The result stretches Cruzeiro's dominance over this fixture to three straight wins and confirms the gap between the two clubs this season: Cruzeiro sit seventh with 48 points and a form run of LWWLW, while Gremio are stuck at 18th with just 31 points and no win in their last five. For Gremio, six goals conceded in one afternoon is a damning number no matter who's on the other end. Watch Kaio Jorge's second goal, a finish that turned a nervy scoreline into a rout, in the highlights below.
