Match Recap
Seven goals, five different scorers, and barely a moment to breathe. Toluca dismantled Atlas 5-2 at home in Liga MX, putting three past their visitors before the half-hour mark through Alexis Vega in the 19th minute, Jesús Angulo three minutes later, and Federico Viñas at 29. Atlas had drawn both of their previous meetings with Toluca, but there was no such resilience here. Florián Monzón pulled one back in the 51st minute, yet João Paulo Dias Fernandes restored the four-goal cushion almost immediately. Jorge Rodríguez made it five on the hour, and by the time Luis Lopes added a late consolation for Atlas at 79, the damage was long done. Toluca sit top of the Liga MX standings with 16 points from five games, and this performance made that number look entirely earned. Watch Viñas slot home the third in the 29th minute, the goal that really killed the contest.
