Colorado Rapids 2–0 Sporting Kansas City

Colorado Rapids turned their recent head-to-head record on its head Sunday, shutting out a Sporting Kansas City side that has managed just one win in their last five Major League Soccer matches. R. Cannon broke the deadlock in the 65th minute, giving the Rapids a lead they never surrendered, and when Rafael Navarro buried the clincher deep into added time at 90+5, whatever slim hope Kansas City had carried into the final whistle evaporated for good. Colorado, now at 25 points with three wins from their last five, had previously lost two of their three meetings with this opponent, making this a pointed reversal. Sporting Kansas City, sitting 11 points back on 14, leave Dick's Sporting Goods Park with nothing from a fixture they urgently needed. Both goals are worth your time on the highlights reel, but Navarro's stoppage-time finish, when Kansas City was still pushing for a way back, is the one you need to watch.
