Match Recap
Flamengo didn't just beat Bahia, they dismantled them, turning a scoreless first hour into a 3-0 rout inside 14 second-half minutes. Jorginho broke the deadlock in the 64th, Gonzalo Plata doubled it nine minutes later, and Lucas Paquetá put the finishing touch on it in the 78th as Bahia's resistance simply collapsed. The gap in form told the story before kickoff: Flamengo arrived second in the Brasileirao Serie A table on 64 points riding four wins from five, while Bahia sat seventh on 49 with just three wins in that span, and they leave this one having lost two of their last three meetings with this opponent. Kaio Jorge still tops the league's scoring charts, untouched by anyone on the pitch in Salvador, but that barely mattered once Flamengo found their rhythm. For Bahia, there's no spinning this result. For Flamengo, it's the kind of statement win that validates their current streak. Watch how Plata's strike in the 73rd minute split Bahia's defense wide open, the moment this game truly got away from the hosts.
