Match Recap
Maksim Glushenkov did it twice before halftime, and Zenit needed every bit of that cushion before this one was done. He put the visitors ahead in the 40th minute and doubled it in stoppage time, then Aleksandr Sobolev made it three just past the hour. FC Krasnodar, sitting top of the Premier League table with 21 points, hit back fast: Joao Batxi pulled one back within minutes and Jhon Cordoba made it 3-2 in the 71st, setting up a nervy finish. Five goals, two red-hot form teams, and a Zenit side that arrived with three wins from their last five despite sitting fifth. The sides had drawn their only previous meeting, so this result breaks new ground between them. Krasnodar's unbeaten home run took a hit, but it was Glushenkov's early double that decided it long before Cordoba's late reply could matter. Watch how Glushenkov turns the game in four second-half minutes, and see Cordoba's strike that nearly dragged Krasnodar level in the highlights below.
