Match Recap
Five goals in 90 minutes and three of them arrived before the half-time whistle — Monza vs Udinese was never going to be quiet. Jakub Piotrowski gave the visitors the lead on 32 minutes before Andrea Colpani pulled Monza level five minutes later, but Udinese hit back twice in the dying moments of the first half: Hassane Kamara on 45 and Jurgen Ekkelenkamp in the third minute of added time turned a one-goal game into a three-one deficit before the break. Gustavo Varela gave Monza a lifeline at 63 minutes, but the hosts couldn't find a second and Udinese held on to claim all three points. It keeps the Udine side at four points from two Serie A games, while Monza sit winless at the bottom after two straight losses. Udinese had previously lost the only meeting between these clubs on Monza's ground, so this result settled that score emphatically. Watch Ekkelenkamp's 45+3 finish — the goal that made it three before the break and broke Monza's spirit.
