Match Recap
Seven goals, one chaotic afternoon in the Jupiler Pro League, and KV Mechelen somehow came out on top 4-3 over St. Truiden. Kazuki Takai got Mechelen rolling in the 24th minute, and by the half-hour mark Sebastiaan Michez and Soma Taniguchi had turned a one-goal lead into a 3-0 cushion. St. Truiden refused to fold: Strahinja Bazdar pulled one back right before the break, and Imad Sebaoui struck again just four minutes into the second half to make it 3-2 and set up a proper finish. Benjamin Raman restored Mechelen's two-goal buffer in the 62nd, only for Frank Soelle to cut it right back down to a single goal in the 71st. It's the kind of result that will do little to lift Mechelen off the bottom of the table, where they sit on three points from five games, but a win is a win, and it also snaps a run of three straight losses to St. Truiden head to head. With goals flying in from both ends for 71 minutes straight, this is one highlight reel worth watching in full.
