Match Recap
Jesse van de Haar had the last word twice. His second goal, in the second minute of stoppage time, put the exclamation mark on Waalwijk's 6-1 demolition of MVV in the Eerste Divisie, a one-sided afternoon that produced seven goals from kickoff to final whistle. Jordy de Wijs got it rolling after 13 minutes, and Waalwijk were already out of sight at 3-0 by halftime thanks to F. Al Mazyani and Juan Familia-Castillo. Liam Van Gelderen added a fourth early in the second half before Van de Haar's brace bookended Olivier Dumont's late consolation for MVV. The result flips the table logic on its head: MVV came in third with 13 points and three wins from five, Waalwijk sat eighth on 10 with just two wins, yet none of that survived first contact. It also extends Waalwijk's perfect record against these opponents, a win in their only previous meeting. Watch Van de Haar's stoppage-time strike, the goal that turned a rout into a statement.
