Match Recap
Parma and Genoa came into this Serie A relegation six-pointer both winless and both scraping the bottom of the table, and it showed until Denilson Romero broke the deadlock just before half-time. Mateus Osmajic dragged Genoa level with 20 minutes left, setting up a nervy finish, but Pontus Almqvist settled it for Parma with 10 minutes to go. The win lifts Parma off the foot of the table, still level on points with 19th-placed Genoa but now ahead on the head-to-head record after a rivalry that has produced nothing but draws in their last two meetings. Neither side has found any rhythm this season, Parma's form reading LDLL and Genoa's DLLL, which made the late swing of momentum all the more telling. With D. Malen still running away with the Serie A scoring charts elsewhere, this was a match won in the margins by two teams desperate for any kind of result. Watch how Almqvist's 80th-minute strike snuck past the Genoa defense to hand Parma a crucial three points in their fight to climb out of the relegation zone.
