Match Recap
Daniel Salloi pulled Toronto FC level with a 70th-minute strike to rescue a 1-1 draw against New York City FC in Major League Soccer, denying the visitors what would have been a much-needed three points. Nicolás Mercau had given NYCFC the lead just past the half-hour mark, and the away side held firm for more than 40 minutes before Salloi responded. The result keeps Toronto unbeaten across their last five league outings, two wins and three draws, while deepening NYCFC's difficult stretch: the New York side have not won in five straight, collecting just two draws from those games. Head-to-head history had offered Toronto little comfort coming in, with no wins from their last two meetings against this opponent, but Salloi at least spared them a third defeat to the same rival. His finish, the goal that changed the afternoon, is exactly what the highlights are for.
