Match Recap
Cusco came from behind to grab a valuable away win in Peru's Primera División, edging FC Cajamarca 2-1 on the road. Ivan Colman put the visitors ahead inside the first quarter-hour, and although José Mauricio Arrasco Calderón leveled things for the home side ten minutes later, Facundo Callejo restored Cusco's lead right on the stroke of halftime, striking in first-half stoppage time to send them into the break in front for good. The result stretches Cusco's edge in this fixture, having also beaten Cajamarca in their only previous meeting, and fits the wider gap between the two clubs this season: Cusco sit fifth with 45 points, while Cajamarca remain stuck down in 15th on 27. Cajamarca's Arrasco Calderón at least got his name on the scoresheet in a game his side ultimately couldn't hold, but Cusco's response to going a goal down showed exactly why they're the ones climbing the table. Two goals inside four second-half-bound minutes either side of the break decided it. Watch how Callejo's 45+1 strike unfolded to see the moment Cajamarca's hopes slipped away.
