Zulte Waregem 0–2 Gent

Zulte Waregem couldn't find an answer, and Gent made sure it stayed that way right to the final whistle. Ibrahima Cisse put the visitors ahead inside the first quarter-hour with a 12th-minute finish, and it looked like enough on its own until Mathias Balikwisha sealed it deep into stoppage time, bending in a second in the 90+2nd minute to put the gloss on a 2-0 win. It's a result that fits the shape of each side's season so far: Gent arrive in this form unbeaten in five, climbing to third in the Jupiler Pro League table, while Zulte Waregem sit sixth and still searching for the kind of run that turns a mid-table season around. The head-to-head read is no kinder to the hosts, who lost the only previous meeting between these two without scoring. None of Zulte Waregem's issues look fixed, and Gent look sharper than their table position even suggests. Balikwisha's injury-time strike, arriving just as Zulte Waregem might have settled for a respectable scoreline, is the moment worth rewinding for. Catch both goals, Cisse's early opener and Balikwisha's late twist of the knife, in the highlights below.
