Match Recap
Vitoria's Carlos Renê de Sousa Ferreira looked to have settled this Serie A contest before it had barely started, firing twice in the opening twelve minutes to put the visitors firmly in control at Mirassol. The early double made it three wins from five recent matches for Vitoria and seemed to confirm their superior form on the day. Mirassol, who had not beaten Vitoria in any of their last three meetings, spent the second half clawing back. Bruno Santos de Oliveira pulled one back on 68 minutes to set up a tense finale, and when Edson Carioca levelled in the 90th, the Mirassol faithful erupted. The draw keeps Mirassol on 29 points and Vitoria on 33 in the Serie A table, both sides now carrying one more share of the spoils. Carioca's stoppage-time finish is exactly the kind of strike that replays will not do justice to until you actually watch it.
