Match Recap
Lassina Traore put Burkina Faso ahead inside 20 minutes in this Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, only for Benin to claw level through Aiyegun Tosin's 68th-minute strike to snatch a 1-1 draw. Traore's early finish looked set to extend Burkina Faso's dominance over this fixture, having won their only previous meeting, but Benin's response denied the hosts a repeat of that record. Neither side's scorer features among the qualifying section's current top charts, where M. Munetsi leads the way with two goals, underlining how this contest hinged on a single moment from each attack rather than a leading man. It was a tight, tense affair befitting a qualifier where points matter more than style, and Tosin's leveller turned a routine home win into a shared spoils. Burkina Faso will feel the two points slipping away given how the head-to-head had favored them; Benin will take real encouragement from digging out an equalizer on the road. Watch how Traore opens the scoring with a clinical 20th-minute finish, then see Tosin's crucial late strike that pulled Benin level and salvaged a point in this Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash.
