Brooklyn 1–2 Birmingham Legion

Birmingham Legion needed a response after Brooklyn struck first, and Sacha Tregarthen gave them exactly that, twice. M. Pinto put the hosts ahead in the 7th minute, but Tregarthen leveled things just 11 minutes later and then struck again in the 63rd to complete the brace and turn the game around. It's the kind of comeback that USL Championship fans live for, and it pushes Birmingham Legion to 27 points and 11th in the table, two spots and six points clear of a Brooklyn side still searching for consistency after winning just once in their last five. The result also settles an early score: this was the pair's first meeting, and Brooklyn now walks away on the losing side of that fresh rivalry. With P. Goodrum still the league's top scorer on 8 goals, Tregarthen's double is a reminder there's no shortage of firepower outside the leaderboard. Brooklyn led, had the better start, and still lost. Watch how Tregarthen turns Pinto's early strike into a footnote with two clinical finishes in the highlights below.
