Match Recap
Rodrigo Guth waited until the final minute of stoppage time to settle this one, and when his effort went in, it sent Fortuna Sittard's bench spilling onto the pitch. Excelsior had held firm for 90 minutes against the run of play, but a 1-0 scoreline flattered their resistance right up until Guth struck in the 90+1st minute. The win nudges Fortuna Sittard up to sixth in the Eredivisie table on 15 points, riding a DDWLW streak that now has real momentum behind it, while Excelsior sink further into trouble at 12th with just 11 points and a run of LLDLD that shows no sign of turning. History was already on the home side's favor too. Fortuna Sittard have won their only previous meeting between these two without a single draw or loss to show otherwise. Neither side has a name among the league's top scorers this season, with PSV's R. Pepi still way out front on 16 goals, but none of that matters when a last-gasp winner decides it. Watch how Guth's stoppage-time strike unfolds, and feel the eruption that followed it.
