Match Recap
Ahmad Faqa needed just two minutes to get Sirius moving, and Melker Heier doubled the damage right before the break, sending Degerfors IF home with nothing from a 2-0 Allsvenskan defeat. The early goal set the tone: Sirius controlled the game and never let Degerfors settle, closing it out well before Heier's 44th-minute strike made it safe. It's a much-needed lift for league leaders Sirius, who sit top with 45 points despite just one win in their last five, a slump the early goal helped paper over. Degerfors, 14th on 19 points, arrived on a stronger run of three wins in five but couldn't find an answer once Faqa struck. The win also extends a perfect head-to-head record for Sirius, who beat Degerfors in their only previous meeting too. Neither scorer cracks the league's top ten, where K. Lien still leads with 15 goals, but Faqa's second-minute strike is exactly the kind of start worth rewinding for.
