Match Recap
Suriname needed the second half to break Martinique down in this CONCACAF Nations League clash, and once they did, the game turned quickly. Justin Lonwijk put the hosts ahead in the 54th minute, and Gyrano Kerk doubled the lead 15 minutes later to put Suriname firmly in control. Martinique refused to fold, though. Boris Moltenis pulled one back in the 81st minute and set up a nervy finish, but Suriname held on for a 2-1 win. Kenji Gorre still sits atop the league's scoring charts with four goals, but it was Lonwijk and Kerk who did the damage here, giving Suriname a result that keeps them moving in this Nations League campaign. Martinique will feel there was more in the tank, especially after Moltenis showed the fight to make it a genuine contest late on. Watch how Kerk's 69th-minute strike sealed it before Moltenis' late reply made things interesting.
