Match Recap
Ken Yamura needed just 60 seconds to give JEF United Chiba exactly what they have been desperate for. The 1st-minute strike set the tone on a night the J1 League's bottom side simply refused to sit back, and Takumi Tsukui buried the second just seven minutes into the second half to make it 2-0 and kill off any Gamba Osaka hope of a reply. That result matters enormously for Chiba, who had won only once in their first five J1 League outings and came into this match rooted in 19th place with three points. Osaka, meanwhile, have yet to win in five attempts themselves, their LDDLD run stretching on without a breakthrough. Two quick, purposeful goals, a clean sheet, and a lifeline in the standings. Go find Yamura's first-minute finish and ask yourself how a side that desperate produced something that clean.
