Match Recap
MVV kept grinding until the second half finally cracked Helmond Sport open. Olivier Dumont broke the deadlock four minutes after the restart, and Elias Sierra put it beyond doubt in the 78th minute to seal a 2-0 win in this Eerste Divisie clash. It's a result that fits MVV's recent trajectory, two wins in their last two after a rough patch to climb to fifth on 13 points, while Helmond Sport stay stuck down in 14th on 8 despite having shown some fight in their own recent form. The two sides had only met once before, a draw, so this was the first time either had actually beaten the other, and MVV made it count when it mattered. Neither side has a player among the league's top scorers this season, with D. Zandbergen still well clear at the top of the charts, but MVV didn't need a star name, just two well-timed strikes in the same half. Catch both goals, Dumont's opener and Sierra's clincher, in the highlights below.
