Match Recap
Shakhtar Donetsk needed just 36 minutes to put Kolos Kovalivka to the sword, racing into a two-goal cushion before the away side could settle. Vinícius Tobias opened the scoring in the 10th minute and Valeriy Bondar doubled it soon after, handing the Premier League leaders the kind of lead that erases nerves. Kolos Kovalivka, ninth in the table with just eight points from five games, hit back through Ardit Tahiri in the 84th minute, but the reply came far too late to spark a real comeback. The result also settles an old score: Shakhtar had failed to beat Kolos Kovalivka in their last two meetings, a draw and a loss between them, so finally getting the job done counts for more than the scoreline suggests. Shakhtar stay top with 21 points, even if their recent form shows they are not unbeatable. Two early strikes and a late twist, catch every goal in the highlights below.
