Match Recap
Lokomotiv Plovdiv struck first through Ryan Leijten in the 8th minute, only for Lokomotiv Sofia to hit back before the half was out. Mohamed Medfai leveled things in the 33rd, and from there neither side in this First League derby could find a winner. It's a result that mirrors where both clubs sit right now: Sofia hold 11th on 7 points, Plovdiv just one spot and zero points behind in 12th, both nursing patchy form after five rounds. The head-to-head tilts Plovdiv's way too, having won the lone previous meeting between these two without conceding a draw or a loss. Neither Leijten nor Medfai is troubling J. Zwarts at the top of the scoring charts, but both strikes mattered plenty on the day, canceling each other out in a share of the spoils that neither Lokomotiv will be fully satisfied with. Want to see how Medfai hauled Sofia level just before the break? The goal that salvaged a point is waiting in the highlights below.
