Match Recap
Malte Amundsen's brace did the heavy lifting as Columbus Crew ran riot in a six-goal shootout, beating Toronto FC 4-2 in Major League Soccer. Gonzalo Tapia got the Crew rolling in the 16th minute before Amundsen struck twice either side of halftime, in the 21st and 48th, and Brooks Lennon added a fourth just after the hour. Toronto never stopped swinging back, with Dániel Sallói and Josh Sargent trading late goals of their own, but the deficit was already too steep. The result flips the head-to-head script, too: Columbus hadn't beaten Toronto in any of their last three meetings, drawing two and losing one, before finally breaking through here. Both clubs sit a point apart in the standings, Toronto just ahead on 36 to Columbus's 35, and the Crew's win keeps their form card glowing after four victories in five. None of that explains how four different moments turned into a four-goal cushion in under an hour. Watch how Amundsen's second goal, a 48th-minute strike seconds into the second half, swung the momentum for good.
