Match Recap
Blackburn made the most of a strong first-half spell to beat Cardiff 2-1 in the Championship. Andri Guðjohnsen broke the deadlock in the 28th minute, and Todd Cantwell doubled the lead ten minutes later to send the hosts in at the break firmly in control. Callum Robinson pulled one back for Cardiff early in the second half, setting up a nervy finish, but Blackburn held firm to see it out. The win nudges Blackburn to 9 points from five games, just above Cardiff's 7, though both sides remain stuck in the lower half of the table and still searching for consistency after mixed recent form. Neither Guðjohnsen nor Cantwell troubles the league's scoring charts, where C. Larin's 15 goals keep him well clear of the pack, but their quick-fire double here was enough to decide it. Watch how Blackburn turned a tight opening half hour into a two-goal cushion inside ten minutes, and see Robinson's reply that nearly dragged Cardiff back into it, in the match highlights above.
