Match Recap
Bahia did the professional job away from home in Bahia, with A. Veliz breaking Vitoria's resistance on 67 minutes and Jean Lucas putting the result beyond any doubt deep in stoppage time, a 2-0 Serie A win that flatters nobody. It is another painful evening for Vitoria, who have taken just one win from their last five league matches and now sit on 29 points, a side that has spent most of this run losing rather than drawing. Bahia, by contrast, move to 37 points and consolidate sixth place, even if their own recent form has been stuttery — one win and four draws across five games. The head-to-head between these clubs has historically been tight, all three recent meetings split across a win, a draw, and a loss for each side, which makes Bahia's clean sheet here count for more. Jean Lucas sliding one home in the seventh minute of added time, right when Vitoria needed something, anything, is the moment worth finding.
