Match Recap
Shooting Stars finally got the better of Katsina United, with R. Olanrewaju's 18th-minute strike enough to seal a 2-0 win at home in the NPFL. It reverses the story from their only previous meeting, which Shooting Stars lost to this same Katsina United side. Katsina United came in just one place and one point above their hosts, 14th to Shooting Stars' 15th, but couldn't find a way past a defense that protected Olanrewaju's early strike from the quarter-hour mark onward. Neither team can claim a name near V. Mbaoma, the league's 13-goal top scorer, so this one was decided by nerve rather than star power. Olanrewaju struck early and Shooting Stars made it stand up, grinding out a win that also flips their head-to-head record against Katsina United. Watch the 18th-minute finish that did all the damage and turned this NPFL meeting on its head.
