Match Recap
Congo DR did their damage early and made Zimbabwe chase the game for the rest of the night. Yoane Wissa broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, and Samuel Moutoussamy doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time, sending Congo DR into the break in full control of this Africa Cup of Nations qualifier. Zimbabwe pushed and pushed but couldn't find a way through until the 93rd minute, when Marshall Munetsi finally beat the goalkeeper for a nervy finish that arrived far too late to matter. It was Munetsi's third goal of the qualifying campaign, enough to keep him at the top of the competition's scoring charts, a cruel footnote on a night his side lost anyway. Congo DR closed it out 2-1, a result built entirely in that opening 45 minutes. Watch Munetsi's stoppage-time strike below, the goal Zimbabwe spent 93 minutes chasing and got one minute too late.
