Genoa 4–1 Ascoli

Ascoli came to Genoa's Marassi ground and grabbed the lead they wanted, A. Silipo finishing confidently in the 25th minute to put the visitors ahead in this Coppa Italia round. What followed was a comprehensive dismantling. Genoa levelled through A. Marcandalli in the 42nd minute, then T. Baldanzi struck right on the stroke of half-time to flip the tie before the break even arrived. The second half was one-way traffic: L. Colombo made it three in the 61st minute, and E. Havel sealed a dominant 4-1 win in the 80th, capping a run of four unanswered Genoa goals after trailing. Ascoli had a lead and then had nothing. The full swing from 0-1 to 4-1, squeezed almost entirely into one frantic hour of football, is worth every second of the highlights.
