Match Recap
Oscar Kabwit Tshikomb needed just 60 seconds to give FC Luzern a dream start, and by the fourth minute FC Basel 1893 had already wiped it out through Žan Celar. That was the last time Luzern led. Philip Otele put Basel in front before the break, and Xherdan Shaqiri turned the second half into a personal statement, scoring twice in ten minutes, in the 56th and 66th, to turn a nervy lead into a 4-2 stroll before Lars Villiger's 84th-minute strike made it 2-4 at the final whistle. Six goals, a Super League ambush, and a result that lifts Basel to 10 points and fourth place, extending a run that had them grinding through early defeats before back-to-back wins. Luzern, seventh with 9 points, had won one of their last two meetings with Basel, but on this night nothing held. Watch Shaqiri's second, the finish that turned a scrap into a rout, in the highlights below.
