Match Recap
Malawi survived a second-half fightback from South Sudan to edge this Africa Cup of Nations qualifier 2-1. Adepoju Adebare Babatunde put the hosts ahead inside the first 20 minutes, but South Sudan hit straight back through Joseph Stephen Dhata just three minutes into the second half, setting up a nervy finish. Malawi needed an answer and got one from Lloyd Njaliwa in the 64th minute, restoring the lead and sealing the points. Neither side features M. Munetsi, the league's current top scorer with two goals, among their names on the sheet, but this was a reminder that qualifiers are rarely decided by the form book alone. Three goals, three different momentum swings, and a Malawi side that had to earn every point of this win rather than cruise to it. Watch how Njaliwa's 64th-minute strike unravels South Sudan's response in the full highlights below.
