Match Recap
Danilo Santos scored twice, and both times Gremio had an answer ready, until Botafogo made sure the last word was theirs. The opener came in the 30th minute through Santos, but Gremio hit straight back six minutes later via J. Cabral to level things at Nilton Santos. Botafogo regained control early in the second half when A. Montoro found the net in the 52nd, and Santos completed his brace in the 79th to put daylight between the sides in this Serie A clash. Gremio refused to fold, and Gustavo Martins pulled one back in the 88th minute, but there wasn't enough time left to complete the comeback. Five goals, two second-half twists, and a Botafogo side that leans on Danilo Santos when it matters, even sitting mid-table at 11th with a shaky WDDLL run. Gremio, 16th and still searching for consistency, leave with nothing despite the late scare they gave their hosts. Watch how Santos turned the 30th and 79th minutes into the difference, and how close Martins came to spoiling it in stoppage time.
