Match Recap
Bradley Barcola put on a show in Linz, and Liverpool simply ran riot. The winger's hat-trick, completed by the 66th minute, was the backbone of a 6-3 demolition of Lask Linz that saw nine goals hit the net inside a single Champions League night. Ronald Araujo and Jeremie Frimpong joined the party before the break was even a memory, and Liverpool looked untouchable at 4-0 up early in the second half. Lask refused to fold completely: Florian Flecker struck twice in three frantic minutes either side of Robert Ljubicic's effort, dragging the scoreline back to something resembling respectable before Lewis Koumas restored the gap. The result opens Liverpool's European campaign with a win and a place in the group's upper half, while Lask start on nothing after a night to forget on home turf. Nine goals, a hat-trick, and a flurry of late strikes from the home side, watch every single one of them, from Barcola's first finish to Flecker's late double, in the highlights below.
