Match Recap
Bolton had this one until the 90th minute, and even then it only got nervy, not level. Stoke City controlled the Championship clash at Bolton, with Lamine Cissé breaking the deadlock right on the stroke of half-time in the 45+4th minute and Ben Wilmot doubling the lead on 62 to put daylight between the sides. Thelonius Bair gave the home crowd something to shout about with a stoppage-time strike in the 90+2nd minute, but it arrived far too late to change anything. The result tells its own story in the table: Stoke City arrive at this fixture in form, unbeaten in four of their last five and sitting ninth, while Bolton's season keeps sliding after three straight defeats leave them down in 15th. Neither side has a player among the league's top ten scorers this season, with Larin's 15 goals still well out of anyone's reach here, but Cissé's timing and Wilmot's finish did more than enough damage on the day. Bolton's late rally deserved better. Watch how Bair's 90th-minute strike nearly sparked a miracle comeback that fell agonizingly short.
