Match Recap
Jasper Hartog ruined VVV Venlo's night twice over, and the second time it mattered most. His stoppage-time leveler in the 90+3rd minute capped an eight-goal classic that ended 4-4 in the Eerste Divisie, denying VVV Venlo a result their table position suggested they deserved. Venlo sit third with 21 points and a WWLWW run, but Jong AZ, eleventh on 13 points despite a patchy LWDLW stretch, refused to fold. Hartog and teammate Jerolldino Bergraaf had the visitors 2-0 up inside 22 minutes before L. Schmidt answered with a brace of his own either side of halftime to drag Venlo level. Andreas Verstraeten and Eanna Clancy then put the hosts in front inside a frantic final half hour, only for Hartog to complete his double with virtually the last kick of the game. Eight goals, two players scoring twice apiece, and a finish nobody saw coming. Watch Hartog's 90+3 equalizer land and see why nobody in this one deserved to lose.
