Match Recap
Lamine Yamal needed six minutes to settle any nerves, curling home the opener before Rodrigo doubled Spain's lead inside the first half. Czech Republic never found a way back in this UEFA Nations League clash, even after Jiri Slama pulled one back in the 69th minute to briefly stir hope in the away end. Mikel Merino slammed the door shut in the 89th, sealing a 3-1 win that keeps Spain perfect through two games, top of the group on six points with back-to-back victories. Czech Republic, by contrast, sit bottom with nothing to show from their opening two matches, back-to-back losses piling the pressure on already. Yamal's goal was his fourth of the campaign, enough to put him third among the league's top scorers behind pace-setter Harry Kane, and on this evidence the gap won't stay wide for long. Spain look every bit the side to beat in this Nations League group. Watch Yamal's early finish and Merino's late sealer in the highlights below, two moments that tell you exactly why Czech Republic couldn't keep up.
