Match Recap
Ediyor Shomurodov did it twice as Uzbekistan ran away from Iran 3-1 in a friendly that started level and finished as a rout. Shomurodov opened the scoring in the 10th minute, and after Jamshid Urozov pulled one back for Iran early in the second half, Shomurodov struck again in the 58th to restore the cushion before Khojiakbar Norchaev added a fourth-minute stoppage-time goal to seal it. The two sides had met only once before, sharing the points in a draw, so this result flips the script on their recent history in Uzbekistan's favor. Neither team's scorers currently sit among the league's top marksmen, a group still topped by Mirsad Osmajić on five goals, but Shomurodov's brace makes a strong case for getting on that list. Three goals in the space of 48 second-half minutes, two of them from the same man, a stoppage-time cherry on top. Watch how Shomurodov's second finds the net and see Norchaev's late strike put the exclamation mark on Uzbekistan's win.
