Match Recap
Machida Zelvia arrived at Nagoya Grampus as J1 League leaders and left looking every bit the part, winning 3-1 to extend their grip at the top of the table with 16 points from five games. Ryohei Shirasaki broke the deadlock deep in first-half stoppage time, and when Henry Heroki Mochizuki pulled one back for Nagoya in the 55th minute it looked like the hosts might make a game of it. They couldn't. Alexandre Kouto Horio Pisano restored Zelvia's two-goal cushion on 75 minutes, and Yusuke Matsuo sealed it in the seventh minute of stoppage time to send the visitors home with a commanding victory. Nagoya, who have won just twice in five league outings and have yet to beat Zelvia in three previous meetings, now sit on only six points. For Machida Zelvia, four wins from five games and a relentless WWDWW run of form make a compelling argument that this title challenge is no fluke. Watch Matsuo's 90+7 finish to see exactly how Zelvia close out a game.
