Match Recap
Esteban Lepaul scored a hat-trick for Rennes and still walked away with nothing. Paris FC outlasted him and the rest of Rennes 4-3 in a Ligue 1 shootout that swung three times in the final 20 minutes, with Lassine Sinayoko settling it deep into stoppage time at the 90+7 mark after Lepaul had leveled things up moments earlier at 3-3. Maxime López got Paris FC going twice before halftime, and Sinayoko's second completed a four-goal response from the home side. The result also flips history: Paris FC had lost both of their previous meetings with Rennes, so beating them this way, from behind, with the league's own top scorer doing everything he could to stop it, says plenty about where this Paris FC side is right now at second in the table. Rennes, for all three of Lepaul's goals, slip to fifth. Seven goals, a hat-trick that wasn't enough, and a winner in the 97th minute, every one of them is on video, and Sinayoko's stoppage-time strike is the kind of finish that deserves to be watched more than once.
