Match Recap
Guayaquil City FC looked set for defeat before D. Dorregaray struck in the third minute of stoppage time, snatching a 1-1 draw against Leones del Norte in Liga Pro. M. Luque had put the visitors ahead just before the break, finishing in the 38th minute to silence the home crowd, and for long stretches it looked like Leones del Norte would hold on. Both sides arrived level on 39 points, with Guayaquil City sitting ninth and Leones del Norte just above them in eighth, and neither has beaten the other in their last two meetings, both of which ended in draws, a trend this result only extended. Guayaquil City's mixed recent form, a stretch featuring two losses sandwiched by wins, made the late leveler feel less like luck and more like a habit of finding something when it matters. E. Mero remains the league's top scorer, untouched by either side on the night, but this match belonged to Dorregaray's nerve in front of goal. Watch how he found the net with the clock already in the red, snatching a point Guayaquil City barely deserved until that moment.
