Match Recap
A late-second-half strike from Mateo Cassierra pulled Atletico-MG level after Tulio Eduardo Silva De Oliveira had put Chapecoense-sc ahead just before the break, and the Serie A clash finished 1-1. Atletico-MG, sitting seventh with 39 points and unbeaten in three of their last five (WLWDW), will feel it's two points dropped at home against a Chapecoense-sc side languishing in 20th with just 17 points, though their WLWDW form swing shows they're not easy to put away. Oliveira's 44th-minute finish sent the visitors in with belief, and for a side that's lost more than it's won this season, that lead meant everything until Cassierra found the equalizer in the 69th minute. It's the first meeting between these two in recent memory, with Atletico-MG holding the solitary head-to-head win on record. Neither Oliveira nor Cassierra features among Serie A's top ten scorers this season, that honor still belongs to Kaio Jorge's 24-goal haul, but both delivered when it mattered most. Watch how Cassierra times his run to beat the offside trap and level things up in the 69th minute.
