Match Recap
Gimnasia M. and Deportivo Riestra played out a goalless draw in Liga Profesional Argentina, and this scoreless finish actually mirrors the two clubs' history: it's the same result as their only previous meeting. For Gimnasia M., a point stretches an unbeaten stretch of two wins and two draws in their last five, lifting them to 19 points and 11th place, while Riestra's stalemate does little to change their fortunes, stuck at 11 points and 15th with a form line of one draw and four defeats in their last five outings. Neither side found the breakthrough that C. Tarragona, the league's top scorer with 19 goals, has made a habit of elsewhere this season, and this match went without him or anyone else troubling either goalkeeper. A quiet scoreboard doesn't always mean a quiet match, though, and with both teams grinding for something to build on, the tension of a 0-0 between two sides at different ends of form is worth seeing play out. Watch the highlights to see how close either Gimnasia M. or Deportivo Riestra came to breaking the deadlock.
