Match Recap
Barau FC keep climbing the NPFL table, and they showed exactly why at Sporting Lagos. J. Atule put the league leaders ahead in the 35th minute, and for long stretches it looked like business as usual for a side unbeaten across three of their last five outings. Sporting Lagos, mid-table and inconsistent with two wins from four, had other ideas: S. Ayoade leveled things in the 61st minute to snatch a point that means more to the hosts than the table suggests. The draw does nothing to dent Barau's position at the summit on 11 points, while Lagos claw back some momentum after a shaky run of form. Neither Atule nor Ayoade features among V. Mbaoma's company at the top of the NPFL scoring charts, but both strikes carried real weight, one settling nerves for the league's form side, the other rescuing a result for a team that needed it badly. Watch how Ayoade's equalizer unfolds in the highlights below and see the finish that denied Barau FC a perfect afternoon.
